Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. These guidelines from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) are the most widely used standard for making websites usable for people with disabilities.
Current status
We work towards WCAG 2.2 AA, but we do not yet claim full conformance. No external audit has been carried out so far. This statement is based on our own testing with the keyboard, browser zoom, narrow screens and all color themes, plus automated checks. Systematic testing with screen readers is our next step.
What we have done
Structure
Every page uses a logical heading order and standard landmarks for header, navigation, main content and footer. A skip link at the top jumps straight to the main content.
Keyboard
Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus outline. The search dialog opens with "/" or Ctrl+K, and you can move through results with the arrow keys.
Forms and results
All form fields have labels, and hints and error messages are connected to their fields. Search results and other updates are announced to screen readers through live regions.
Language
English and German pages are each marked up with their language, so screen readers use the right pronunciation.
Display and reading
- Text can be enlarged in the browser without content being cut off or overlapping
- Pages work on narrow screens from 360 pixels wide without sideways scrolling
- If your system asks for reduced motion, animations and transitions are turned off or kept to a minimum
- Agreements, test results and user manuals have print-friendly versions that leave out navigation and decoration
Color themes and contrast
Consation offers five color themes. You can switch between them at any time; if you have an account, your choice is saved in your profile under Appearance and follows you to other devices.
- Sage: the default, a textured sage green with warm accents
- Wine: a deep wine red with soft gold
- Parchment: warm, light paper tones for daytime reading
- Midnight: a calm, neutral dark mode
- High contrast: black, white and yellow for maximum contrast
If your operating system or browser is set to ask for more contrast and you have not picked a theme yourself, the High contrast theme is chosen automatically. Color is never the only way we show information: chips, warnings and levels also carry a text label or an icon.
Known limitations
Some parts of the site are not yet as accessible as we would like. We know about the following.
- Some couples games rely on visual cards and timers, which can be harder to follow with a screen reader or if you need more time
- Files uploaded by members, such as agreement documents in PDF or Word format, may not be accessible, because we do not control how they were made
- Setting up two-step login shows a QR code. The same key is also offered as text, so you can enter it by hand instead
- Position illustrations are simplified silhouettes. Each position also has a written description, which is the main source of information
We are working to reduce these limitations. If one of them stops you from using something you need, please tell us, and we will try to help in another way.
Tips for using Consation
- Press "/" or Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac) to open the search, and Esc to close it
- On long pages, use the "On this page" list to jump to a section
- Use your browser's zoom (Ctrl and +, or Cmd and + on a Mac) to make everything larger
- Choose a theme that suits your eyes and your surroundings
Esc three times leaves the site
Pressing Esc three times in quick succession triggers the quick exit and takes you to a neutral page. If you use Esc often to close menus and dialogs, pause briefly between presses.
Feedback and contact
If you run into a barrier, or have an idea for making Consation easier to use, please write to support@consation.com. If you have an account, you can also use the contact form. We aim to reply within a few working days.
Helpful details
- The address of the page and what you were trying to do
- What went wrong, in your own words
- Your browser and any assistive technology you use, if you are happy to share it
Enforcement
Please contact us first, so we have the chance to fix the problem. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have further options depending on where you live.
In Switzerland, the Disability Discrimination Act (Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz, BehiG) protects people with disabilities from discrimination, including by private providers of services to the public. In the European Union, the rules on digital accessibility are enforced by national bodies in each member state, which can tell you whether and how they apply to a case.
About this statement
This statement was prepared on 16 October 2026 on the basis of our own assessment. We review it whenever we make significant changes to the site, and at least once a year.
Accessibility is ongoing work, not a box we tick once. New features are checked with the keyboard, on narrow screens and in every color theme before they go live, and we fix barriers that people report to us as a priority.
