Apple Crumble for Two

DessertEasy

Warm cinnamon apples under a buttery oat crumble, baked in one small dish.

Ingredients

2 servings

  • 2 apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar for the topping
  • 3 tbsp cold butter, diced

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)

  2. Toss the apples with the sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice and spread in a small baking dish

  3. Rub the flour, oats, sugar and butter together with your fingertips until crumbly

  4. Scatter the crumble evenly over the apples

  5. Bake for 25 minutes until golden and bubbling at the edges

  6. Let rest for 5 minutes and serve warm with cream or ice cream

Tips

  • Contains gluten and milk; plant butter makes it vegan
  • Rubbing in the crumble together is a nice hands-on job for two
  • Add a handful of berries or chopped nuts to the apples if you like

Check for allergies and intolerances before you start, and swap ingredients as needed.
